There are four key points in country\u2019s connectivity development, according to President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst<\/em>, it must provide economic benefits. Second<\/em>, it must be done evenly and inclusively. Third<\/em>, it must be done by paying attention to sustainability aspects. And fourth<\/em>, it must be supported by human capital development and technology transfer,\u201d President Jokowi said at the High-Level Forum on Connectivity adopting the theme \u201cConnectivity in an Open Global Academy\u201d at China National Convention Center, Beijing, PRC, Wednesday (10\/18).<\/p>\n

According to the President, those things are the basis for Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) cooperation for connectivity development.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, the BRI can be a solution for developing connectivity and contributing to peace in the region to create shared prosperity,\u201d President Jokowi said, adding that to achieve such prosperity, Indonesia has built more than two thousand kilometers of toll and non-toll roads, ports, and airports for the last nine years.<\/p>\n

In addition, the President stated that Indonesia is also developing connectivity through the construction of small-scale infrastructure, including more than 320 thousand kilometers of village roads and seven million meters of bridges to connect villages around the country.<\/p>\n

Aside from physical connectivity development, President Jokowi said that Indonesia also continues to expand digital connectivity to reach the outermost regions and border areas. Furthermore, construction of community service facilities, such as health and education facilities, also continues to be developed.<\/p>\n
