Export and investment must continue to be increased to maintain Indonesia\u2019s economic growth, President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo has said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe key [to economic growth] is to maintain export so that it continues to increase. This is not easy. Investment must also be maintained so that it continuously grows because the base of our economic growth is still consumption, be it the Government\u2019s or private sector\u2019s,\u201d he said while opening the 2023 Investor Daily Summit at Hutan Kota by Plataran in Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (10\/24).<\/p>\n

According to President Jokowi, the two aspects will be the new bases of the country\u2019s economic growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope that if we can increase our exports and investments, they will become the bases of Indonesia\u2019s economic growth,\u201d he said, adding that the Government plans to give incentives to the property industry to stimulate economic growth as the industry has many derivatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to trigger our economy by providing incentives for housing development, for properties because the industry covers many other industries. It can comprise 114 industries, including rooftile, cement, brick, sand, timber, door, glass, ceramic, and many others. [The incentives] can boost these industries\u2019 growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The President pointed out that the incentives can be given in the forms of value-added tax (VAT) exemption for houses with certain prices and elimination of administration fee for low-income groups.<\/p>\n
