As part of his working visit to Lampung province, President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo on Friday (10\/27) inspected the facilities and learning activities at State Vocational High School (SMK) 3, Metro city, Lampung province.<\/p>\n

The visit was carried out to inspect the quality of several vocational high schools in Lampung.<\/p>\n

According to President Jokowi, the educational program in SMK 3 is well-equipped with facilities and infrastructure, making it suitable for industrial demands.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are already CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, for design, for IT. As for the building, everything is well-provided,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

However, President Jokowi also stated that SMK 3 still lacks of laser cutting machine. Therefore, he expressed commitment to provide the machine that can be used as a learning media.<\/p>\n

\u201cLater, I will help (to provide) the laser cutting machine, so that the students can keep up with the current technology,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

Additionally, President Jokowi also expressed hope that all vocational high schools in the province can have the same standards as SMK 3, so that the quality of education in Indonesia can be further improved, especially in Lampung.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think if all [vocational schools] apply the standards such as those in SMK Negeri 3, Metro city, that will be great,\u201d he commented.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the principal of the school Erlian Eka Damayanti expressed hope that President Jokowi\u2019s visit to SMK 3 can enhance the students\u2019 enthusiasm to keep learning.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that President Jokowi\u2019s visit will increase the motivation of our students and raise our hopes that the students can learn work culture and later be ready to work, ready to get jobs, and ready to be entrepreneurs, so that the students from this school can be independent,\u201d Erlian said.
