President Joko “Jokowi Widodo Thursday (12\/21) led the groundbreaking ceremony for precinct police building in Indonesia’s new capital of Nusantara (IKN), in North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province.<\/p>\n

“Alhamdulillah<\/em>, this morning marks the commencement of laying the first stone for the construction of precinct police station located in the IKN area,” the President said.<\/p>\n

According to the President, the new precinct police in IKN will cover an area of 6,189 square meters within a 12-hectare land parcel with a construction target to be completed in around nine months and supported by a budget worth Rp160 billion.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi also underscored the significance of preserving harmony between development and the surrounding environment, particularly in the green areas of IKN.<\/p>\n

“Since this police station is special in IKN, I order a specially designed structure, specifically a green building. Given the green nature of this area, I’d like the design of the police station to be subtly adjusted to reflect a more environmentally friendly and green aesthetic,” he said.<\/p>\n

In aiming for a safe capital city, the President pointed out that the incorporation of advanced technology into the security system of the police station, including CCTV, a command center, and artificial intelligence (AI) analysis should be integral to minimize crime and ensure the protection of its residents.<\/p>\n

The President also revealed plans to assign IKN Special Police with approximately 750 personnel to oversee operations across the six designated sub-precinct police stations in the area.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President expressed his delight as these personnel have been strategically assigned and prepared across East Kalimantan regional police, adding that these personnel will assume their duties in IKN once the construction is completed.<\/p>\n

“I hope the police station in IKN will significantly enhance services, provide better community protection, strengthen law enforcement, and contribute to the overall stability and security in the IKN area,” the President remarked.
