President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo inspected the Karakelang Ring Road, Talaud Islands regency, North Sulawesi province, Thursday (12\/28). He stated that road construction on the outermost and foremost island had been carried out from 2015 to 2023 with the aim to promote a fair and equitable infrastructure development.<\/p>\n

“In Talaud Islands regency, from 2015 to 2023, a budget of Rp1.13 trillion has been allocated for road infrastructure covering approximately 199 kilometers of land strip which was once soil and then was worked on, repaired and asphalted,” explained the President in his statement after the inspection.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, President Jokowi instructed the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing to refine and ensure the stability of the road. “I\u2019ve instructed the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing to also refine it again next year,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Head of State expressed his belief that if roads in districts and cities throughout Indonesia are repaired and in good condition, like those in the Talaud Islands, they can improve connectivity between regions.<\/p>\n

“And I think if roads in all districts and all cities are like this one, they will improve logistics and connectivity between sub-districts and between districts,” he said.<\/p>\n

For your information, data from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing revealed that the Talaud Ring Road has a total length of 199 kilometers. By 2024, the entire Talaud Ring Road is targeted to be fully asphalted with a stability level of 97 percent.
