President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo strongly opposed the statement made by the Israeli Prime Minister (PM), Benyamin Netanyahu, regarding non-existent future for a two-state solution on the Israel-Palestine conflict.<\/p>\n

“This statement is completely unacceptable,” stressed President Jokowi in his statement, at Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java province, Friday (01\/26).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, President Jokowi also strongly condemned Israel’s attack on the Khan Younis refugee camp in Gaza. The attack resulted in many deaths and injuries.<\/p>\n

“The list of violations of international law committed by Israel is too long,” he added.<\/p>\n

Previously, President Jokowi had also received a report from Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi who was present at the UN Security Council\u2019s open debate discussing the Gaza issue. During the debate, Retno also firmly rejected PM Netanyahu’s statement.<\/p>\n

“Before leaving for New York, I\u2019ve told the Minister of Foreign Affairs to consistently voice Indonesia’s strong support for the struggle of Palestinian people. It must be expressed firmly,” he said.<\/p>\n

Additionally, President Jokowi also emphasized that Indonesia rejects the entry of any Israeli ships into Indonesian territory. “Once again I reiterate that ports in Indonesia will not be used to serve Israel’s interests,” he stressed.
