President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Friday (02\/02) called on the Nahdlatul Ulama\u2019s (NU) Youth Wing Organization GP Ansor to join hands in creating a successful general election this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s clear, we must be committed to creating a general election in democratic, safe, orderly, and transparent manner. Most importantly, it must be encouraging, not create any disturbance, fear, or worry,\u201d President Jokowi said at the opening of the 16th GP Ansor Congress at Tanjung Priok harbor, North Jakarta.<\/p>\n

The President also asked the GP Ansor members to remain active in maintaining national unity and integrity. \u201cIf the situation gets worse, I ask you to be involved in easing it and provide clarification so that people are not drawn into fake news and hoaxes that harm us all,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In addition, President Jokowi also invited GP Ansor to help the future administration in realizing Advanced Indonesia.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur job is also to guard and support the Government in the future in carrying its duties as well as possible so Indonesia can triumph in global competition which is getting tougher and tougher,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Head of State also urged the GP Ansor big family to continue campaigning for religious moderation and defending human rights.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must fight for Palestinian independence. Indonesia is fighting for a two-state solution, together with the Palestinian people fighting for their independence. We are strong, not only for our own nation but for global peace, Islamic brotherhood, and human brotherhood,\u201d he remarked. (FID\/UN) (GWH\/LW)<\/strong><\/p>\n
