Yesterday there was quite a buzz at Halim [PerdanaKusuma] when you mentioned about the president, regarding campaign statements?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There was a question from journalists regarding whether ministers are allowed to campaign or not. I conveyed, based on the provisions of laws and regulations, let me explain. Law Number 7 of 2017 clearly states in Article 299 that the president and vice president have the right to take part in campaigns, it&#8217;s clear. So, I mentioned the provisions on election law, please don&#8217;t think otherwise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Furthermore, Article 281 also clearly states that election campaigns involving the president\/vice president must comply with the regulations; they should not use state facilities except for security facilities and should take unpaid leave. Everything is clear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So again, don&#8217;t think otherwise. Don&#8217;t interpret it otherwise.
