The Government through Directorate General of Taxes of Ministry of Finance consistently undergoes institutional reforms, one of which is by reforming regulations through Law Number 7 of 2021 on Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP Law).<\/p>\n

One of the efforts to implement the regulation is by integrating the Citizenship Identification Number (NIK) as the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP).<\/p>\n

“To integrate NIK and NPWP is a tough task, but we hope that in the future, it will make it easier for all of us to comply with tax regulations,” said Expert Staff of Minister of Finance for Tax Supervision Nufransa Wira Sakti at the Public Relations Coordinating Board (Bakohumas) Thematic Forum ” Filing Annual Tax Return and Integrating NIK and NPWP”, at the Directorate General of Taxes Head Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (02\/21).<\/p>\n

Nufransa highlighted that the integration of NIK and NPWP is crucial and needs to be prepared before the update of the Core Tax Administration System (PSIAP) is officially adopted in the middle of 2024. In the system, the NIK will be used as a common identifier.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Head of the Bureau of Communication and Information Services (BKLI) of Ministry of Finance Deni Surjantoro stated that the integration of NIK and NPWP is aimed at realizing an effective and efficient tax administration.<\/p>\n

“The integration of NIK and NPWP aims to realize an effective and efficient tax administration with a single identity number (SIN),” Deni said.<\/p>\n

Deni further said that starting July 1, 2024, the NIK will be fully implemented as the NPWP for tax payers of resident individuals and 16-digit NPWP for taxpayers of non-resident individuals, entities, and government institutions.<\/p>\n

“This single identity number will help you in the process of synchronizing, verifying, and validating taxpayer data,” Deni said.<\/p>\n

Taxpayers can easily perform self-integration or validation through the pajak.go.id page. These are the integration steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Open the pajak.go.id website. Click the Login menu in the upper right corner<\/li>\n
  2. Enter the 15-digit NPWP, enter the corresponding password, and enter the security code<\/li>\n
  3. Open the Profile menu, enter the NIK, check the validity of the NIK, and click the Change Profile menu<\/li>\n
  4. Press the Logout button, then try logging in again using the NIK and the same password as before.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
