President Jokowi hands over e-land certificates for people in Banyuwangi regency, East Java province, Tuesday (05\/02) (PR of Cabinet Secretariat\/Rahmat)<\/p><\/div>\n

President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Tuesday (04\/30) kicked off Banyuwangi working visit in East Java province. The President and his entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at around 13.20 Western Indonesian Time.<\/p>\n

Upon his arrival at Banyuwangi International Airport in Banyuwangi regency, East Java province, the President was slated to visit the Tawang Alun Sports Hall to hand over 10,323 electronic land certificates under the land redistribution program.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe land redistribution in Banyuwangi [regency] is the largest in Indonesia. Some were former forest land, some with right-to-cultivate permits (HGU) land. All have been handed over to all of you,\u201d President Jokowi said during the Handover of E-Land Certificates.<\/p>\n

According to the President, the e-land certificate is only one paper that includes data on the land area and the owner’s rights to the land.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, President Jokowi emphasized the importance of having a land certificate as proof of land ownership while underscoring that owning a land certificate also prevents land disputes or conflicts.<\/p>\n

“In my 10 years experience as a president, when I visited regions, villages, and hamlets, I found land disputes and land conflict cases. Why? Because you don’t hold a certificate,” the President added.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Head of State also called on people who already have land certificates to take good care of them and use them for productive purposes.<\/p>\n
