President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Monday (05\/20) invited heads of state and delegates of the 10th<\/sup> World Water Forum (WWF) 2024 to visit the Ngurah Rai Forest Park (Tahura) in Bali.<\/p>\n

After enjoying the welcoming refreshments, President Jokowi invited the delegates to go inside the mangrove plantation area, which is supported by solar power generation technology.<\/p>\n

The solar panels at Tahura Ngurah Rai are adopted from the Cirata solar panel project in West Java province, a joint project between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President also explained the method of mangrove seedling care to the heads of state and delegates joining the visit to which the participants responded enthusiastically.<\/p>\n

“The handing over and planting seedlings in Tahura reflects our shared commitment to advancing cooperation and concrete action for global development,” the President said, while underscoring the significant potential of mangrove forests that can absorb and store carbon four to five times more than regular forests and support improving coastal community livelihoods.<\/p>\n

For the record, the Tahura is a rehabilitation and conservation area for mangrove forests. The area was built under the Balinese principle of Tri Hita Karana, which puts emphasis on the balance of relationships between God, humans, and nature.
