Guests attend the National Zikr and Prayer for the 79th Anniversary of Indonesia\u2019s Independence at Merdeka Palace Front Yard in Jakarta, Thursday (08\/01).<\/p><\/div>\n

Religious and public figures, Thursday (08\/01), attended the National Zikr and Prayer for the 79th Anniversary of Indonesia\u2019s Independence in Jakarta, an opening of the series of events to celebrate Indonesia\u2019s Independence anniversary.<\/p>\n

WS Sunarta Hidayat from the Indonesian Supreme Council for the Confucian Religion (MATAKIN) expressed appreciation for the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe pray to God that our leaders are blessed with strength and physical and mental abilities leading this big country so that they can execute their tasks as best as possible, which will eventually bring success and happiness to us all,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Echoing a similar sentiment, Father Agustinus Heri Wibowo, the Executive Secretary of the Interreligious and Interfaith Relations Commission of the Bishops\u2019 Conference of Indonesia, also praised the prayer event.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt means that for 79 years we have become more mature and greater. I hope the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia continues to advance and becomes more prosperous and all of its people are protected from all kinds of danger and threat,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In addition to religious figures, the general public also attended the event. Fadholi Jamil, a guest from Pamulang, expressed hope that Indonesia will be more peaceful, safe, and prosperous.<\/p>\n

Likewise, Kosim Nurseha, a guest from North Jakarta, stated that the event is a good momentum to maintain national sovereignty while expressing a similar hope.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope Indonesia becomes a great country that is blessed with God\u2019s mercy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
