Cabinet Secretariat Tuesday (08\/06) received a visit from the Executive Board of the Student Union (BEM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya in the Main Meeting Room, Building III, Cabinet Secretariat, Jakarta, with the theme \u201cGerak Progresif<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n

In this event, 30 students from FEB UB attended presentations from Acting Head of the Human Resources Bureau Somavita Mariam and Head of Employee Capacity Development Division Dwiyanto who discussed Cabinet Secretariat\u2019s vision and mission, as well as its duties and functions in assisting the President.<\/p>\n

Yusuf Hafidzun Alim, Head of the Foreign Affairs Department and External National Presidium of the Indonesian Economics Student Forum from FEB UB, expressed appreciation for Cabinet Secretariat\u2019s willingness to warmly welcome FEB UB students, while also conveying their purpose in visiting the institution.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here to strengthen relationships, convey aspirations, and delve deeper into policies that significantly impact society with a critical and diplomatic spirit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He continued by outlining several concerns of the students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya:<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst, we hope this visit becomes a constructive discussion platform. Second, the importance of collaboration between the Government and all societal elements, including students. Third, we want to emphasize that policies prioritizing public welfare must be the main priority. Fourth, in an increasingly complex global context, Indonesia’s role on the international stage must be strengthened. And we hope that the Government remains open to constructive input and criticism from the public,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, Somavita also expressed hope that today’s discussion would be beneficial for the attending students, providing new knowledge about the Cabinet Secretariat that can be implemented by FEB UB students on campus.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Dwiyanto, as the Head of Employee Capacity Development Division, in his presentation also explained how Cabinet Secretariat is involved in the strategic decision-making process of national-scale policies that have a broad impact on the society.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you read it as a whole (from points 1-12 of Cabinet Secretariat’s duties and functions), it illustrates the policy-making process from upstream to downstream, from how recommendations are assessed for government policy and program plans, so Cabinet Secretariat is involved end-to-end,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

He also discussed the concerns and the hopes of FEB UB students that the Government remains open to constructive input and criticism from the public.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can also establish cooperation or, for example, share with various groups, be it students, non-governmental organizations, or other research institutions out there. Cabinet Secretariat is open to creating policies on how the Government’s policy plans can then be executed,\u201d he said.
