“It is a historic moment. For the first time in history, the procession is not carried out from the National Monument to the Merdeka Palace, but from the National Monument to the IKN,” Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana said.<\/p>\n
The ceremony was part of the commemoration of the 79th<\/sup> Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.<\/p>\n The procession was led by Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono and began with the handover of the heirloom flag replica and the independence declaration text in the Independence Room of the National Monument, from Head of the Presidential Secretariat to the Alumni of the National Flag Hoisting Team (Purna Paskibraka), namely Kachina Ozora from Central Kalimantan province and Keyla Azzahra Purnama from South Sumatra province.<\/p>\n The procession also involved 180 members of Abang-None<\/em> Jakarta, 122 members of Jakarta Purna Paskibraka team, as well as students from the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN), students of polytechnics, and civil servants.<\/p>\n After the land trip in Jakarta, the flag and the declaration text were transferred from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base to Balikpapan, East Kalimantan province by Indonesian Air Force Boeing aircraft. Upon arrival at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport, the flag and proclamation text were transferred to the State Palace at the IKN.<\/p>\n The Purna Paskibraka team members carrying the flag and the declaration text were Naila Aulita Alqubra Sinapoy from Banten province and Lilly Wenda from Papua Pegunungan province.<\/p>\n In Balikpapan, the group was greeted by a team from Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres), the East Kalimantan Purna Paskibraka team, and students, along the route to the IKN.<\/p>\n For the record, the ceremony was not only a symbolic procession, but also a reflection of the spirit of nationalism. By transferring the flag and the independence declaration text to the IKN, Indonesia shows its commitment to advancing the national development while upholding the values that have been fought for by the nation’s founders.
