Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Administrative Affairs, Thanon Aria Dewangga, officially opened the Dissemination of the Four Pillars of the Cabinet Secretariat Archival Policy, aiming to maximize the management effectiveness of dynamic archives within the Cabinet Secretariat. This event was held at the Avenzel Hotel, Bekasi city, West Java province, on Friday, September 27, 2024.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, Thanon emphasized the importance of good archive management following applicable archival standards. He highlighted the crucial role of archives in supporting the governance and as the identity and memory of the country.<\/p>\n

“We hope that this dissemination can ensure the availability of archives that support the governance, become performance accountability materials, valid evidence, decision-making materials, and also ensure the preservation of archives of historical value to enrich the collective memory of the nation,” he said.<\/p>\n

He went on to say that this event aims to improve understanding and implementation of the four pillars of archival policy set by the Cabinet Secretariat in Cabinet Secretary Regulations Number 7, 8, and 9 of 2022, as well as Regulation Number 3 of 2024, which regulate archive classification, dynamic archive security, archive retention schedules, and official manuscripts.<\/p>\n

“With these four pillars and the insights from the speakers, the participants are expected to be able to manage archives of the Cabinet Secretariat better,” he added.<\/p>\n

Thanon also lauded the Cabinet Secretariat\u2019s improvement in archive supervision in which the institution managed to achieve a score of 73.28 in the category “BB” (Very Good) from National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) in 2023. Nevertheless, he still emphasized the importance of improving the archive management quality to achieve a higher score.<\/p>\n

“I hope that this can boost our morale so that, in 2024 and 2025, our archive management will be better, and we will achieve a higher score,” said Thanon optimistically.<\/p>\n
