Billy Mambrasar, Special Staffer to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for Education, Innovation, and Outer Regions, holds a discussion with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and development stakeholders on Tuesday (10\/08).<\/p><\/div>\n

As the 10th<\/sup> year of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s leadership approaches, Special Staffer to the President for Education, Innovation, and Outer Regions Billy Mambrasar Tuesday (10\/08) held a discussion with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and development stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The discussion took place at the JSI Resort Convention Center in Bogor, focusing on reviewing the key achievements of the past decade and examining the development legacy established by President Jokowi.<\/p>\n

The discussion centered on several priority sectors that became key concerns for the Jokowi administration, including enhancing the quality of human resources, developing infrastructure, strengthening the digital economy, and promoting equitable development across Indonesia, particularly in underdeveloped regions, border areas, and Eastern Indonesia.<\/p>\n

According to Billy, President Jokowi has successfully implemented significant changes in Indonesia for over the past 10 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Jokowi has established a solid foundation for Indonesia to become a developed country by 2045 and escape the Middle Income Trap. A notable example of this progress is Indonesia’s record-high income of U$1.3 trillion in 2023, with growth consistently remaining above 5%. His policies prioritize comprehensive development, including physical, environmental, and sustainable human resource initiatives. This represents a legacy that will benefit future generations,\u201d Billy said.<\/p>\n

Under Jokowi\u2019s administration, he added, we have witnessed significant transformations across various sectors. Infrastructure development is no longer concentrated solely on Java Island. It is now expanding throughout Indonesia. Access to education and healthcare has become more equitable, and there are enhanced programs aimed at empowering communities, particularly in the most remote and outermost regions.<\/p>\n

Partnership Director of Mandala Consulting Marlisa Soepeno pointed out that one of President Jokowi\u2019s significant legacies is the “blusukan<\/em>” culture, which reflected his commitment to connecting with the community.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi has transformed Indonesia\u2019s development not only in terms of physical infrastructure but also by fostering a more inclusive leadership culture. By frequently visiting communities through his ‘blusukan’<\/em> approach, the President demonstrated that officials are not just isolated in their positions. This is one reason why he is rightly referred to as the \u2018People\u2019s President\u2019<\/p>\n

The panel discussion covered several important topics, including the sustainability of major infrastructure projects such as the new capital of Nusantara (IKN) development, the availability of job opportunities, and preparations for the golden generation in 2045. Furthermore, the forum highlighted initiatives for reducing carbon emissions and President Jokowi’s commitment to environmentally friendly and sustainable development.<\/p>\n

The participants in the discussion expressed their appreciation for the efforts made over the past decade. They concurred that many positive steps have been taken and emphasized the importance of maintaining their sustainability under the next Government.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, development stakeholders also revealed several challenges that remain to be addressed, including the ongoing socio-economic gap and the necessity to further strengthen human resource capacity, particularly in the areas of technology and innovation.<\/p>\n

The Special Staffer expressed hope that the outcomes of this discussion will serve as a collective reflection and provide valuable input for the Government in sustaining and building upon the achievements accomplished during Jokowi’s leadership.<\/p>\n
