President Prabowo Subianto directed his staff to promptly develop work programs within their respective ministries and institutions to achieve good governance.<\/p>\n

The directive was issued in the first Plenary Cabinet Session of the Red and White Cabinet at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2024.<\/p>\n

“You should immediately formulate the work programs for your respective ministries and institutions. I may call for coordination at any moment,” the President stated.<\/p>\n

The President also ordered Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) to ensure that all programs and activities across ministries and institutions deliver meaningful, measurable, and synergistic outcomes. The President also highlighted the importance of food self-sufficiency to address global uncertainty and potential conflict.<\/p>\n

“We must achieve food self-sufficiency. That is our top priority given the global situation as a major conflict could erupt at any time. We must ensure we have the capability to feed our people,” the President said firmly.<\/p>\n

The President also ordered relevant ministries and institutions to accelerate downstreaming programs for several priority commodities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI urge the relevant ministers, including Minister of Investment and Downstream, Minister of Bappenas, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, along with other pertinent officials, supported by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Chairman of the National Economic Council, to promptly assess the crucial projects in our downstream program. The 26 vital commodity projects must be expedited for downstreaming. Compile a comprehensive list and secure funding to initiate the downstream at the earliest opportunity,\u201d he conveyed.<\/p>\n

Regarding the free nutritious meal program, the President directed Head of the National Nutrition Agency to implement the initiative, which is a priority under his administration. The President also emphasized the importance of continually assessing the set targets and not to be discouraged by challenges in achieving the program\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

“I am fully committed, even to the extent of risking my leadership for this program. Providing nutritious food for children and pregnant women is a strategic priority. If anyone does not support this initiative, they are free to leave my administration. We all are a team, so we must share in this confidence. This is a crucial step in revitalizing the Indonesian people,\u201d the President emphasized.<\/p>\n

The President also emphasized the importance of education and health sectors. He urged relevant ministries to leverage technology for accelerating educational transformation, while in the health sector, he stressed the need for ongoing reforms.<\/p>\n

“The most immediate democratization experienced by the people is through education and health. If we can offer quality education to our children and ensure adequate healthcare for everyone, that is the essence of true democracy,” the President stated.<\/p>\n

President Subianto also underscored the significance of a robust defense and firm law enforcement. He urged relevant institutions and law enforcement officers to address all types of threats and legal violations effectively.<\/p>\n

“All of this requires the backing of a strong defense and strict law enforcement. I urge the Attorney General, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, the Financial and Development Supervisory Board (BPKP), and the State Intelligence Agency to remain focused. Issues like online gambling, drugs, smuggling, embezzlement, corruption, and data breaches are severe threats. Only through firm law enforcement, accurate intelligence, and solid evidence can we effectively address these challenges,” he concluded,” he concluded.
