The Government is committed to maintaining the sustainability of the domestic textile industry amidst intense challenges, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has said.<\/p>\n

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting with several ministers to discuss the development of the domestic textile industry at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (10\/29).<\/p>\n

Airlangga told the media that President Prabowo wanted an update on the current situation, particularly on the textile industry, including publicly listed textile company PT Sri Rejeki Isman (Sritex). \u201cThe President\u2019s directive is to ensure that the company continues to operate,\u201d Airlangga said.<\/p>\n

Regarding Sritex\u2019s bankruptcy status, Airlangga said that the Government will coordinate with the appointed curator first. \u201cWe will first review and discuss this with the curator,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that the Government is committed to avoiding layoffs. According to him, the Government has instructed the textile industry to continue production.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe ask all employees to remain calm as the Government will provide the best solution for them. The current situation is that it\u2019s still undergoing legal proceedings, and the next steps discussed today were very promising. In my opinion, there won\u2019t be any issues,\u201d said the Minister.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Yassierli stressed that the Government will continue to focus on labor protection within the domestic textile industry. He also assured that workers\u2019 rights will be upheld.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m more concerned with labor issues to ensure that all rights of Sritex workers are fulfilled. They are asked to remain calm.
