President Prabowo Subianto Saturday (11\/9) held a bilateral meeting with Premier Li Qiang at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, People’s Republic of China (PRC).<\/p>\n

President Prabowo’s first state visit to China is a significant momentum towards strengthening the strategic relationship between Indonesia and China in various sectors.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, President Prabowo expressed appreciation for the warm welcome from the Chinese Government. The President highlighted that the visit reflected not only diplomatic relations but also the deep friendship between the two countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis shows the great friendship and the great respect that the People\u2019s Republic of China holds towards Indonesia. And, I\u2019d like to emphasize, once again, that we consider China to be a very important friend and important partner, not only for now but for the future,\u201d President Prabowo said.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo also underlined several business contracts between Chinese and Indonesian corporations to be signed shortly, amounting to more than US$10 billion in investment. These investments are expected to further strengthen collaboration between the two countries’ corporations and promote deeper engagement between our peoples.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis shows close collaboration and also the increased participation and integration of Chinese corporations with Indonesian corporations,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

In addition to economic aspects, the President also addressed Indonesia’s interest to learn from China’s experience in alleviating poverty. According to the President, his administration will intensify efforts to alleviate poverty in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going to increase our effort to eradicate poverty and we\u2019d like to learn more and more from your experience,\u201d the President stated.<\/p>\n

On education, the President stated that Indonesia wishes to send more students to higher education institutions in China. Through such a policy, he expressed hope to build an educated young generation capable of facing global challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d like to cooperate with your country on the issue of education,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

This bilateral meeting marks an important milestone in the journey of Indonesia-China diplomatic relations, which will observe its 75th anniversary in 2025. Amid global challenges, this meeting reflects the commitment of both countries to continue strengthening cooperation and building a more prosperous future together.
