In an attempt to monitor domestic conditions, particularly concerning a natural disaster that happens in Indonesia, President Prabowo Subianto Tuesday (11\/12) held a limited cabinet meeting via video conference with several members of the Red and White Cabinet at around 10.00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President urged Cabinet Ministers and relevant officials to give reports about the progress of the mitigation of Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki\u2019s eruption in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to receive an update on the situation of Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki\u2019s eruption in East Flores, NTT. Please provide me with the latest information,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno stated that a joint team, comprising of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Ministry of Social Affairs, the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the regional government, has been coordinating and taking rescue and evacuation efforts since the first eruption in the early hours of November 3.<\/p>\n

According to the report, more than 13,000 residents have been relocated to safer areas to avoid the impact of the eruption.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis morning, we also held a coordination meeting chaired by the Vice President. Since the eruption in the early hours of November 3, the BNPB, Ministry of Social Affairs, TNI, Polri, and regional government have immediately initiated rescue and evacuation efforts for the affected residents,\u201d Pratikno explained.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, the President also underscored the importance of maintaining optimal coordination between the central and regional governments in managing emergency situations across the country.<\/p>\n
