President Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by the President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, during his official visit on Thursday (14\/11).<\/p>\n

President Prabowo stated that the visit was an opportune moment to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

“This is my first official visit to Peru, as President of the Republic of Indonesia. This is good momentum to enhance our relations,” the President said.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo also invited President Dina Boluarte to make an official visit to Indonesia next year. The visit would be in commemoration of the 50th<\/sup> anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Peru.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, both leaders also agreed to expand cooperation in the fields of culture and economy. President Prabowo also stated that Indonesia would open market access for products from Peru.<\/p>\n

“We hope to build strong bilateral relations and, within the context of multilateral relations, Indonesia, as part of ASEAN, will continue to support Peru’s partnership with ASEAN,” the President said.<\/p>\n

Both countries were also committed to completing the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) within the next six months. President Prabowo expressed his optimism that the agreement can be signed during President Boluarte’s visit to Indonesia.<\/p>\n

The country leaders also discussed cooperation in combating narcotics as well as shared perspectives of both countries on the international stage. As nations bordering the Pacific Ocean, both Indonesia and Peru have an interest in maintaining peace and stability in the Pacific region.
