President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) Ant\u00f3nio Guterres on Sunday (17\/11) at a hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.<\/p>\n

The meeting was held during President Prabowo\u2019s visit to attend the G20 Summit in Brazil.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, President Prabowo expressed appreciation for Guterres\u2019 dedication to supporting international peace and justice.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe deeply appreciate, respect, and support your consistent stance in upholding international peace, justice, and international law. This is truly inspiring to us,\u201d said the President.<\/p>\n

He also reaffirmed Indonesia\u2019s commitment to supporting UN efforts, including issues such as food security, poverty alleviation, human rights violations, and the crisis in Palestine. He emphasized Indonesia\u2019s readiness to contribute, including through the deployment of peacekeeping troops if necessary.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, in his response, praised Indonesia\u2019s strategic role in international cooperation. Guterres considered Indonesia a very important partner for the UN.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe share common ground with Indonesia on the key global issues we are facing today,\u201d Guterres said.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted Indonesia\u2019s active contribution to ASEAN-UN cooperation and its important role in addressing the situation in Myanmar and the Middle East region. He expressed the UN\u2019s readiness to continue strengthening cooperation with Indonesia in pursuing reform of the UN Security Council and international financial institutions to achieve global justice.<\/p>\n
