Miftah Maulana\u2019s resignation as the President\u2019s Special Envoy for Interfaith Harmony and Development of Religious Facilities demonstrates his accountability for his statement, according to President Prabowo Subianto.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have not seen it myself, but I received a report that he has resigned. In my view, it is an act of responsibility,\u201d he said in his press statement at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Friday (12\/06).<\/p>\n

The President added that Miftah might not have intended to insult, yet nevertheless, he admitted to his mistake.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe probably uttered the wrong words, but he acknowledged his mistake and took responsibility. He resigned,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo stated that the Government would immediately look for the right replacement as the Special Envoy, adding that multiple parties would be involved to provide input for the proposed preacher certification.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will involve groups that understand this issue. Perhaps they would give feedback. The Ulema Council, religious community organizations, and others.
