President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting with a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, Friday (01\/31), to discuss strategic steps in land management, especially those related to oil palm plantations. The meeting decided several policies that will be implemented immediately to ensure land management is in accordance with applicable regulations.<\/p>\n

One of the main decisions in the meeting was the regulatory steps that will be taken by the Task Force on Land Use Management and Investment Management. The Task Force will act in accordance with established regulations, ensuring compliance with the rules governing land use.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Government will also adjust policies on lands that have been used for oil palm plantations. This adjustment will be carried out while still adhering to applicable regulations in order to create a balance between environmental, economic, and public welfare interests.<\/p>\n

In his directives, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of the state’s presence in enforcing regulations, in accordance with the mandate of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. Policies related to natural resources must be oriented towards national interests and administered for the greatest prosperity of the people. Therefore, this land management process will be carried out with a measured and systematic approach.<\/p>\n

The decisions agreed upon in this meeting will be followed up and supervised directly by President Prabowo. In addition, the members of the Task Force will also carry out their duties in accordance with the directives that have been set, ensuring that the entire process runs according to the principles of good governance.<\/p>\n

The Government is also committed to maintaining a balance between investment and environmental sustainability in land management. The steps taken are expected to provide legal certainty for stakeholders and encourage more orderly plantation management that is oriented towards national interests.
