President Prabowo Subianto received Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), officials from the Ministry of Public Works, and the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. This meeting was a follow-up to discussions regarding the progress of Nusantara Capital (IKN)\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

“Certainly, the expectation is to continue the development with several adjustments and shifting priorities. We are constantly navigating budget constraints as well as various missions and main targets that are part of the national agenda,” said the Coordinating Minister in his statement after the meeting on Monday (02\/03).<\/p>\n

The Coordinating Minister explained that achieving self-sufficiency in food, energy, and water sectors as well as improving people\u2019s quality of life will be the nation\u2019s top priorities over the next five years. Infrastructure, in this regard, will provide full support in realizing these national targets.<\/p>\n

“This does not mean that infrastructure is being sidelined. On the contrary, we must reassess our priorities and make adjustments to ensure that the main priorities of national development over the next five years, especially at the beginning of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, are well supported,” he added.<\/p>\n

Regarding the development of IKN, he assured that the project will continue. According to him, the Government has already allocated a development budget to be used in stages for the period of 2025-2029.<\/p>\n

“Regarding IKN, it has been confirmed that the project will proceed, and the President himself has ensured that a budget of approximately Rp48.8 trillion will be allocated for [the period of] 2025 to 2029. Of course, this will be used in accordance with the phases and plans that have been established from the outset,” he added.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister mentioned that the team responsible for strengthening the basic design, that had previously worked with the Ministry of Public Works on planning the development of the core government area, was also present at the meeting. After completing the construction of the State Palace and the Garuda Palace, the focus will now shift to the development of legislative and judicial infrastructure and facilities.<\/p>\n

“So there are several adjustments [to be made] that will take some time, hopefully not too long, to finalize, and of course, construction can begin soon after,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Coordinating Minister also expressed his hope that the development of IKN will proceed according to plan. He will continue to report the latest progress to the President soon.<\/p>\n

“So that was the focus of the limited meeting this afternoon, and we will also report further developments to the President at the earliest opportunity,” he concluded.
