President Prabowo Subianto has ordered all of the Red-and-White Cabinet staff to make best preparations for this year\u2019s mudik <\/em>(the annual mass homecoming ahead of Eid al-Fitr).<\/p>\n

The President gave the order during a plenary cabinet meeting on Friday (03\/21) at the Cabinet Meeting Room, Jakarta Presidential Palace.<\/p>\n

According to Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Affairs Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), the peak of the homecoming trip is predicted to occur between March 26 and 28, while the peak of the return trip is expected to take place from April 6-7.<\/p>\n

AHY pointed out that the Government has prepared various measures to ensure a safe, smooth, and fun mudik <\/em>this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ministry of Public Works has prepared heavy machinery and materials to immediately repair damaged roads hindering the homecoming. The Ministry of Transportation certainly ensures that multimodal transportation, be it by land, sea, air, or rail, runs smoothly, especially in areas that often turn into congestion hotspots or areas with heavy traffic,\u201d he said in his press statement following the cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n

AHY also pointed out that the President ordered his cabinet to continue to build good communication between government institutions and between ministries so the public has good understanding of the Government\u2019s programs and policies.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was also one of the points that will be evaluated. We hope that we are focused on work while having better communication,\u201d he said, adding that the Government has continued to implement priority policies and programs so that the public can benefit from pro-people policies.<\/p>\n
