President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) witnessed the announcement of eight agreements agreed and signed by the two countries following their bilateral meeting at Qasr Al Shatie Palace, Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday (09\/04).<\/p>\n

The agreements which consist of Memorandums of Understanding and Letter of Intent are split between Government-to-Government, Business-to-Business, and Government-to-Business deals. The collaboration reflects the close tied of strategic relations between Indonesia and UAE in various sectors.<\/p>\n

Four G-to-G agreements include:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. A Letter of Intent on Partnership in Nature and Climate between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia;<\/li>\n
  2. A Protocol of the Second Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Marine Affairs and Fisheries between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the United Arab Emirates;<\/li>\n
  3. A Memorandum of Understanding on Security and Counterterrorism Cooperation between the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates and the Indonesian National Police;<\/li>\n
  4. A Memorandum of Understanding on Islamic Affairs and Endowments Cooperation between the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat of the United Arab Emirates.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Meanwhile, the B-to-B and G-to-B agreements include:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. A Memorandum of Understanding on Milk Production Investment between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates’s Al-Ain Farms;<\/li>\n
    2. A Memorandum of Understanding between Ninety Degree General Trading LLC and Indonesia’s State-run Defense Equipment Manufacturer PT Pindad;<\/li>\n
    3. An Agreement in Principle on Increasing the Capacity of Indonesia’s Cirata Floating Solar Power Plant; and<\/li>\n
    4. A Memorandum of Understanding on the Plan to Develop the 100-megawatt Jatigede Floating Solar Power Plant in Indonesia between Indonesia\u2019s state-owned electricity company PT PLN and Abu Dhabi-based Energy Firm Masdar.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The announcement was a pivotal moment of the warm and fruitful bilateral meeting, reflecting a strong partnership between the two countries as well as a shared vision to strengthening cooperations in the sectors of economy, food security, energy transition, security and religious affairs. The bilateral meeting also served as a new foundation of the diplomatic relations of the two countries for more than four decades.
