Good afternoon.<\/p>\n

Once again, Your Excellency, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for the great welcome shown to me and my entourage. It is also a pleasure for us to make a reciprocal state visit to the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye. We are grateful that President Erdo\u011fan visited us last February. We had important meetings, the first meeting of our High-Level Cooperation Council.<\/p>\n

I would also like to express my gratitude for the openness of President Erdo\u011fan and the Government of T\u00fcrkiye in welcoming us, embracing and encouraging cooperation between Indonesia and T\u00fcrkiye. We have enjoyed 75 years of diplomatic relations and now we are determined to work together even more closely, because we have the same background and vision. We should be a positive force and an important power in the Islamic world. We also have to perform our responsibilities, both as leaders of the Global South and as strategic partners in the new global order.<\/p>\n

During my meeting with President Erdo\u011fan, we discussed ways to enhance our cooperation. We are committed to enhancing our cooperation. The meeting was warm, productive, full of brotherhood, friendship, and the willingness to continue to enhance our partnership.<\/p>\n

Among the outcomes of the meeting, we agreed to expand market access and remove trade barriers. We must develop together as economic powerhouses. Only with economic strength can our voices be heard in this world. I also wish to share that we have ordered our respective trade ministers to finalize preferential trade agreements as the first step towards T\u00fcrkiye-Indonesia CEPA.<\/p>\n

On investment, we decided to finalize the bilateral investment treaty as soon as possible. I also invited Turkish companies to collectively participate in the development of the battery industry, renewable energy, the defense industry, and high-end textiles. I welcome T\u00fcrkiye to participate in the development of energy infrastructure in Indonesia. Also, we hope that Turkish construction companies will continue to participate in the development of Indonesia. We deeply appreciate Turkish construction companies for taking part in building 42 hospitals in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

It is very important for us to collaborate in the health sector to produce vaccines that are needed by our two peoples. We also agreed to create a joint venture, an important joint venture between strategic defense companies between our countries. Indonesia is very grateful, Indonesia wishes to participate in the cooperation on the development of the 5th <\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0generation fighter jet KAAN and also in the construction of submarine development with the Turkish industry.<\/p>\n

President Erdo\u011fan and I exchanged views on geopolitical issues. We agreed that Indonesia and T\u00fcrkiye must participate in maintaining world stability and peace. We will continue our support for Palestine’s independence. We also support stability in Syria and peace in Ukraine. We agreed to continue to help each other in these efforts. As leaders of the Global South, Indonesia and T\u00fcrkiye will continue to work together to promote world governance that is fairer and in favor of all countries.<\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/p>\n

I must say that my state visit to T\u00fcrkiye was very productive. We signed various agreements covering defense, energy, natural disasters, culture, and others.<\/p>\n

This afternoon, I have the great honor of delivering a speech at the Turkish parliament. This was my first speech before a parliament outside Indonesia. I was actually very nervous, but thank God I was able to finish the speech within a short time. As political leaders, sometimes our speeches are too long, so I appreciate Turkish politicians. Although my speech was short, my speech was from the heart. The prepared speech was too long, I would rather speak from my heart. I am very impressed with T\u00fcrkiye culture and civilization, I learned a lot.<\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/p>\n

T\u00fcrkiye, as the successor of the Ottoman civilization, inspires the Indonesian people. Therefore, we are extremely delighted with this good cooperation. We believe that in the future, T\u00fcrkiye and Indonesia can contribute greatly to world peace.<\/p>\n
