The Secretariat of Cabinet Support, Ministry of State Secretariat, received a visit from 63 students Archives and Records Management Study Program of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Vocational School, at Building III, Ministry of State Secretariat, Jakarta, Wednesday (05\/14).<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the Acting Assistant Deputy for Documentation, Dissemination, and Presidential and Ministerial Archives Heru Priyantono welcomed the university’s delegates and students.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the Acting Assistant Deputy, I am glad and proud to welcome the students from UGM Yogyakarta. This visit continues the tradition of previous cohorts who have also come to learn directly from the Ministry of State Secretariat,\u201d Heru said in his remarks.<\/p>\n

According to Heru, the Assistant Deputy for Documentation, Dissemination, and Presidential and Ministerial Archives is responsible for the governance of records and documentation management within the Ministry, including the dissemination of information on cabinet activities and administrative services under its responsibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur core duties involve the management, supervision, and technical guidance of archives management in the presidential institution. We also handle the documentation and public dissemination of cabinet programs and internal administrative services,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

He underscored that archives play a vital role as the nation’s collective memory and serves as comprehensive records of decision-making processes and institutional existence, making them a center of national memory.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe archives managed by Ministry of State Secretariat play a vital and strategic role in sustaining the nation\u2019s administrative journey,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Heru also revealed that archives management at the Ministry covers essential state documents, including Laws, Government Regulations, Presidential Decrees, and Presidential Regulations. His work unit is also responsible for organizing the Presidential Archives Exhibition, which is held annually in conjunction with the anniversary of Indonesia\u2019s Independence Day.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to ensuring that archives administration and management are conducted optimally to support the realization of good governance,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Arif Rahman Bramantya, the lecturer accompanying the students, assessed that Ministry of State Secretariat is recognized for its strong archives management.<\/p>\n

This reputation, he said, was the main reason for choosing the Ministry as a destination to learn more about best practices in government recordkeeping.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see Ministry of State Secretariat as a living \u2018laboratory\u2019 for practical learning, particularly in the field of archives. We hope to adopt some of the best practices that have been successfully implemented here.\u201d Arif said.<\/p>\n

He also expressed hope that the visit would not only broaden the students\u2019 insights but also open opportunities for future collaborations in various fields.<\/p>\n
