President Prabowo Subianto Friday (5\/16) received a courtesy call from the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Wang Lutong, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. The meeting was held in a warm and productive atmosphere, reflecting the close bilateral relations between Indonesia and China that have lasted for 75 years.<\/p>\n

After the meeting, Ambassador Wang Lutong said that the two leaders have embarked on various opportunities for wider and deeper cooperation. \u201cThis year marks the 75th<\/sup> anniversary of our diplomatic relations. There have been many high-level visits and exchanges between the two countries, as well as a lot of potential cooperation in various fields,\u201d the Ambassador told the media crew after the meeting.<\/p>\n

During the discussion, President Prabowo and Ambassador Wang Lutong also reviewed various strategic sectors for the focus of strengthened cooperation. It includes investment, food security, energy, industrial downstreaming, connectivity among communities, cultural education, and other sectors.<\/p>\n

Wang Lutong also stated that the good personal relationship between the two state leaders is an important asset in the strategic partnership of the two nations. Even during last year’s meeting, the two state leaders had produced many important agreements, he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey also continue to maintain close communication, send letters to each other, and speak directly. This strong personal relationship is an important asset in the strategic partnership of the two countries,\u201d said the Ambassador.<\/p>\n

He added that coordination between the two countries will continue to be strengthened in all sectors, including business and community sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be a stronger relationship between the two parties, as well as closer coordination and cooperation between business actors and the communities of the two countries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The meeting served as a positive signal of the strong commitment between Indonesia and China in maintaining and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, especially amid the momentum of the 75th<\/sup> anniversary of the closer diplomatic relations.
