During a working visit at Bengkayang regency, West Kalimantan province on Thursday (06\/05), President Prabowo Subianto held a video conference with four Regional Police (Polda) that take part in the development project of 18 National Police\u2019s food warehouses in 12 provinces. The four Regional Police participating in the dialogue were Bengkulu Regional Police, South Sulawesi Regional Police, West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, and East Java Regional Police.<\/p>\n

Bengkulu Regional Police reported the achievement of food security program in its region, one of which was the expansion of corn fields to 1,328 hectares and the yield of harvest that reached 3,320 tons. They also introduced a superior variety \u201cSupra 1 Bayangkara Merah Putih<\/em>\u201d that resulted from local plant crossbreeding \u00a0and outlined the \u201cone village one-hectare\u201d program projected to create new job opportunities in 1,513 villages.<\/p>\n

South Sulawesi Regional Police reported a surge in corn production by 33 percent in the first quarter of 2025 reaching 1.18 million tons from 894,667 tons in the fourth quarter of 2024. They also built two warehouses accommodating 1,000 tons each. Meanwhile, groups of farmers in South Sulawesi wished for corn dryer and sheller support from President Prabowo.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, we have prepared them. I think we will distribute all the needed machines for all producer areas, including corn shellers, as soon as possible,\u201d President Prabowo responded.<\/p>\n

West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police reported a total harvest of 1.77 million tons of corn for one plant season. However, there are some challenges regarding the limited capacity of the Bulog warehouse which can only accommodate around 578 thousand tons. In response, President Prabowo explained the national strategic plan for warehouse expansion and village cooperation program.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will build warehouses, especially improvised warehouses. They might accommodate not too much, maybe around 40-50 tons. We expect they could be built in the rice and corn production points. Besides, of course, there are more permanent plans, bigger than the Regional Police\u2019s, etc.,\u201d said the President.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo also expressed his appreciation for all the achievements and real synergy of the Regional Police and strategic partners as well as their support for national food sovereignty. The President showed optimism that Indonesia\u2019s agricultural transformation is on the right track.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we have delivered is a big movement. The big momentum of our nation\u2019s revival and transformation. We must improve our farmers\u2019 welfare. We must increase our food stock. We must eliminate hunger from our nation. I believe these will be achieved in a short period,\u201d said the President.
