Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has officially invited Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to attend the 2025 Group of Seven (G7) Summit, which will take place in Kananaskis, Alberta.<\/p>\n

The gathering of leaders from the world\u2019s most advanced economies is scheduled for mid-June 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Prabowo Subianto has accepted the invitation to attend the 2025 G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta, which will be held in the middle of this month,\u201d Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in an official statement.<\/p>\n

Teddy also said that the invitation for President Prabowo to attend the G7 Summit as an honorary guest was not only delivered in writing, but also conveyed personally by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during a private phone call between the two leaders on Friday (June 6).<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to the official written invitation, Prime Minister of Canada His Excellency Mark Carney also personally extended the invitation to President Prabowo during a phone conversation yesterday,\u201d Teddy said.<\/p>\n

During the conversation, Prime Minister Mark Carney also expressed his appreciation for President Prabowo\u2019s leadership, conveying his hope that the Indonesian leader would be able to attend the summit to help strengthen inclusive dialogue on shared global challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrime Minister Mark Carney expressed his appreciation for President Prabowo\u2019s leadership and voiced his hope that the President will be present at the G7 Summit,\u201d Teddy added.<\/p>\n

For the record, the Group of Seven (G7) is an international forum consisting of the world\u2019s largest advanced economies\u2014Italy, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States\u2014along with the European Union.<\/p>\n

The annual summit serves as a strategic platform to discuss major global issues, ranging from economic growth and financial stability to climate change and geopolitical developments.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Group of Seven, or G7, is an informal bloc of advanced economies and the European Union that meets annually to address pressing global economic and geopolitical issues,\u201d Teddy explained.<\/p>\n
