The annual Leaders\u2019 Retreat between President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong on Monday (06\/16) was highly productive, resulting in nineteen strategic agreements across various sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Leaders\u2019 Retreat, in my opinion, was very productive and highly successful. We held a very productive, one-on-one meeting and produced 19 outcomes in various sectors,\u201d said President Prabowo Subianto during the joint press statement after the event.<\/p>\n

In the political and security sectors, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to fully implementing the defense cooperation agreement and to speed up the finalization of technical details regarding the military training area.<\/p>\n

Progress was also made in the extradition agreement mechanism, including the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries\u2019 Attorneys General.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the political and security sectors, we reaffirm our commitment to fully implementing the defense cooperation agreement and to finalize all technical details for the military training area. I hope this process to be accelerated immediately. We also made progress in the extradition agreement mechanism,\u201d the President explained.<\/p>\n

In the economic sector, President Prabowo Subianto expressed appreciation for Singapore\u2019s position as one of the main investors in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for the trust you have placed in us, and we want to continue strengthening this collaboration and partnership,\u201d the President added.
\nSix bilateral economic working groups were also made, including the development of special economic zones, agriculture, tourism, manpower, and transportation.<\/p>\n

The President also highlighted the importance of collaboration between Temasek and Danantara, particularly in renewable energy and the development of low-carbon zones in Batam, Bintan, and Karimun.
\nOn food security, the President welcomed Singapore\u2019s offer to transfer modern agricultural technology, including urban farming and sustainable post-harvest practices.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe welcome the signing of the memorandum of understanding as a basis for strategic cooperation in food security and agricultural technology,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

In the health sector, President Prabowo Subianto invited Singapore\u2019s active participation to support the transformation of Indonesia\u2019s health system, including the establishment of new faculties of medicine and nursing. Meanwhile, cooperation on the placement of skilled Indonesian workers was also discussed, especially in elderly caretaker and caregiving.
\nOn connectivity, Indonesia is committed to increasing direct flights with Singapore and improving airport infrastructure.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to see easier and faster access to our airports,\u201d the President stated.
\nClosing his statement, the Head of State also emphasized the importance of the Indonesia\u2013Singapore strategic partnership, which has been established for more than five decades.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am highly confident this bilateral relationship will continue to grow stronger with increasing trust and confidence.
