Following the visit from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, President Prabowo Subianto Friday (06\/27) at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, held a limited cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the discussion centered on Indonesia\u2019s response to global economic challenges, including ongoing tariff negotiations with the U.S. and measures to revitalize regional cooperation within Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the efforts to respond to the current economic dynamics is the deregulation of the real sector through the revision of Regulation of \u00a0Minister of Trade Number 8 of 2024 that will be simplified into sectoral rules, allowing for greater flexibility,\u201d Teddy said.<\/p>\n

Teddy went on to say that the President also underscored the importance of creating a competitive business environment by removing bureaucratic barriers to licensing, aiming to support sustained domestic economic growth.<\/p>\n

He added that the meeting also reviewed encouraging progress in trade negotiations between Indonesia and the United States.<\/p>\n

According to Teddy, the two countries are committed to pursuing a mutually beneficial partnership.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia and the U.S. have agreed to seek a win-win solution, given the strategic dimensions of their economic relationship. Negotiating teams from both sides are actively working through the proposals and requests,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Teddy further noted that the Government has received strong backing from U.S. economic authorities.<\/p>\n
