President Prabowo Subianto continues to accelerate the development of equitable healthcare infrastructure across Indonesia. The efforts are made through several key programs, including the newly launched national Free Health Checks (CKG) at schools, constructions of new hospitals in remote areas, and improvement in healthcare facilities and human resources.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe free health checks program was just launched on August 4th. So, the President is delighted to hear that the program has reached 17 million [students], and hopes the number can reach up to 20 million by August 17th,\u201d said Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin in his statement to the media at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta on Tuesday (08\/05).<\/p>\n

In addition to the CKG program, development of hospitals in remote areas is also one of the President\u2019s main focuses. Currently, 22 out of 32 planned hospitals have already completed the groundbreaking, while the remaining will begin construction in the second half of 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe remaining 10 will begin the groundbreaking process in the second semester and hopefully [the construction of] 12-15 hospitals will be completed by the end of the year. The local communities also seemed happy about the hospital developments, especially in regions such as Reda Bolo in Borong, and Buton, Anambas, Taliabu in Nias. Those are regions that the President pays attention to,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Budi also stated that President Prabowo urged regencies and cities in Indonesia to have quality hospitals with adequate facilities, gradually expanding the initial target for new hospitals to cover all regions in Indonesia. The President also ordered to proceed doctors\u2019 assignment and medical equipment provision in parallel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President wants 514 regencies and cities to each have good hospitals. And when we talk about hospitals, we also need to pay attention to the medical equipment, human resources, and funding. That\u2019s why the President has issued directives to accelerate both doctors\u2019 assignment, including specialists, and funding process,\u201d Budi added.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Minister also revealed the President\u2019s near-term plan to inaugurate three big hospitals in Jayapura, Jakarta, and Solo, as part of the national healthcare infrastructure transformation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also discussed the inauguration of three hospitals. So. there\u2019s the Ministry of Health\u2019s hospital in Jayapura, which the President has agreed to inaugurate. There\u2019s also the new PON (National Brain Center) hospital in Jakarta, that you can see how big it is if you pass through Cawang. The President has also agreed to inaugurate it in the near future. The last one is a cardiology hospital in Solo, which is [funded through] grant from the King of the United Arab Emirates (UAE),\u201d he concluded.
