President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday (09\/17) conferred honorary ranks on one retired officer from the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and one retired officer from the Indonesian National Police (Polri). The conferment ceremony was held at the Credential Room of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.<\/p>\n

Based on the Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 84\/TNI of 2025 and the Presidential Decree Number 85\/POLRI of 2025 on the Conferment of Honorary Ranks, President Prabowo awarded the honorary rank of General to Lieutenant General (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago, and honorary rank of General to Police Commissioner General (Ret.) Ahmad Dofiri.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President\u2019s Military Secretary, Major General Kosasih, read the Presidential Decrees on the conferment. Afterward, the President personally presided over the removal of the former rank insignia and the placement of the new one on Djamari Chaniago and Ahmad Dofiri.<\/p>\n

In his remarks following the ceremony, President Prabowo stated that the decision to grant the honorary ranks was made as a recognition of their service to the nation and state. He also noted that their dedication and sacrifices exemplified loyalty that should serve as a role model.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo that end, on behalf of the state and the nation, I ask for your commitment to continue serving the country and the nation, even though you already have the right to live as citizens,\u201d the President stated.<\/p>\n

The President also reminded them to continue upholding the honor of the TNI and the Police.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have decided to grant you a honorary rank of four-star general. You must uphold the honor of the general corps and the honor of the TNI and the Polri in the years to come,\u201d the President remarked.
