In his address at the 80th <\/sup>United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), President Prabowo Subianto Tuesday (09\/23) reaffirmed Indonesia\u2019s strong support to a two-state solution as the means to resolve the conflict in Gaza.<\/p>\n

The President also emphasized that lasting peace can only be achieved if the international community recognizes and safeguards the rights of Palestinians, while ensuring the security of Israel.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must have an independent Palestine, but we must also recognize and guarantee the safety and security of Israel. Only then can we have real peace: peace without hate, peace without suspicion. The only solution is this two-state solution,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The President also underscored that the international community must urgently address the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza.<\/p>\n

At this very moment, he added, millions are enduring danger, trauma, and starvation.<\/p>\n

\u201dThe innocent are crying for help, yearning to be saved. Who will come to their aid? Who will protect the innocent? Who will stand for the elderly and women? As we sit, millions continue to face danger at this very moment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The President also reminded the assembly on the United Nations\u2019 key roles in upholding a just multilateral order, where peace, prosperity, and progress, are not the privilege of a few but the right of all.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a strong United Nations, we can build a world where the weak do not suffer what they must but live the justice they deserve. Let us continue humanity’s great journey of ideals the selfless aspirations that created the United Nations,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

The Head of State also expressed confidence that leaders of the world\u2019s great civilizations will demonstrate wisdom and fraternity, and urged everyone to work together in pursuit of peace as a shared vision for a better world.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must live as one human family. Indonesia is committed to helping make this vision a reality. Is this a dream? Perhaps. But it is a beautiful dream we strive for together.
