President Prabowo Subianto receives applause after delivering his speech at the 80th UN General Assembly in New York, Tuesday (09\/23).<\/p><\/div>\n

World leaders expressed great appreciation for President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s first address at the 80th<\/sup> United Nations General Assembly in New York, the United States, on Tuesday (09\/23).<\/p>\n

The Head of State\u2019s address, which underscored Indonesia\u2019s commitment to supporting global peace, was considered as a firm signal of the need for international solidarity and a more active role of the United Nations in tackling global challenges.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, President Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia\u2019s commitment to contributing to global peace within the framework of the United Nations, adding that Indonesia is prepared to advocate this issue through both diplomatic channels and tangible measures.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must draw closer, not drift apart. Together, we must strive to achieve our hopes and our dreams. The United Nations was born from the ashes of World War II that claimed scores of millions of lives. It was created to secure peace, security, justice, and freedom for all. We remain committed to internationalism, to multilateralism, and to every effort that strengthens this great institution.\u201d President Prabowo stated.<\/p>\n

The Head of State emphasized that Indonesia is among the largest contributors to UN peacekeeping forces and affirmed that this role will continue to be strengthened.<\/p>\n

In addition, he stressed that global security and peace cannot rest on words alone but must be upheld through concrete actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia stands ready to deploy 20,000 or more of our sons and daughters to help secure peace in Gaza or elsewhere. In Ukraine, in Sudan, in Libya, everywhere when peace needs to be enforced, peace needs to be guarded, we are ready. We will take our share of the burden. Not only with our sons and daughters, we are also willing to contribute financially to support the United Nations\u2019 great mission to achieve peace,\u201d the President emphasized.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo further said that the world today is driven by conflict, injustice, and deepening uncertainty. Even so, the President highlighted that the United Nations must remain a pillar of peace, security, justice, and freedom for all nations.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo country can feel completely secure. We need the United Nations and Indonesia will continue to support the United Nations. Although we still struggle, but we know the world needs a strong United Nations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President stressed that a just world order must not be the privilege of a few but the right of all.<\/p>\n

He also underscored that the United Nations must be strengthened to address increasingly complex global challenges, including conflict, humanitarian crises, and social and economic injustice.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a strong United Nations, we can build a world where the weak do not suffer what they must, but live with the justice they deserve. Let us continue humanity\u2019s great journey of ideals, the selfless aspirations that created the United Nations. Let us use science to uplift, not use science to destroy,\u201d the President remarked.
