Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya ensured the readiness of the National Internship Program. The program targets universities’ fresh graduates, who hold bachelor’s degrees and diplomas and graduate within one year, to work at state-owned enterprises and private enterprises.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Minister of Manpower has worked effectively. We are ensuring that this program benefits people,\u201d said Cabinet Secretary following the meeting with Minister of Manpower Yassierli and Vice Minister Afriansyah Noor, as well as the team at their office, Jakarta, on Friday (10\/10).<\/p>\n

For the record, the open submission deadline is October 15. The internship will commence on October 20 for a period of six months. There will be 20,000 interns for the initial program, to which hundreds of interns will be added for the upcoming stages.<\/p>\n

The interns will have the opportunity to work and gain valuable experience in various industries, as well as receive a government-salary based on the provincial minimum wage (UMP) at the workplace.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Jakarta, for instance, with UMP as much as 5.4 million rupiah, each intern will receive that much salary monthly. Therefore, in other provinces, they will receive a salary based on the UMP or regional minimum wage (UMR) in their respective cities or areas,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Cabinet Secretary showed his appreciation to all parties who work hard and ensure the program is ready. He also emphasized that the government will conduct monitoring and evaluation to ensure the program runs smoothly, is well-targeted, and benefits people.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will keep monitoring; we will check the implementation. So far, it has been well done due to the hard work of the Ministry of Manpower. Thank you, and keep up the good work. Let us all collaborate,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
