President Prabowo Subianto, arrived at Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport, Arab Republic of Egypt, on Monday (10\/13), to attend the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit. The Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft carrying the Head of State and a limited delegation departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, on Sunday (10\/12)\u00a0 at 00.20 Western Indonesian Time and landed in Egypt the following day at around 07.00 local time.<\/span><\/p>\n

President Prabowo was welcomed upon arrival by Chamberlain of the Egyptian Presidency Mohammed Mokhtar, Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt Lutfi Rauf, and Defense Attach\u00e9 of the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, Navy Colonel Dafris D. Syahruddin.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While in Egypt, the President is scheduled to participate in the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit. On this occasion, President Prabowo is expected to witness the signing ceremony of a peace agreement and cessation of hostilities in Gaza.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Summit is also expected to be attended by a number of world leaders, including: US President Donald Trump, King Abdullah II of Jordan, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President of T\u00fcrkiye Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan, President of French Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and United Nations Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres.<\/span><\/p>\n

President Prabowo\u2019s participation in the Summit reflects Indonesia\u2019s important role in promoting peace in the Middle East, particularly regarding the conflict in Gaza.
