President Prabowo Subianto welcomed King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, in a bilateral meeting at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday (11\/14). In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized the close relations between Indonesia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan that have been established for a long time and the commitment of both countries to continue to strengthen cooperation in various sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease consider Indonesia your second home, and Indonesia has high respect and high regard for Jordan for many years, and we want to work closely with you, we want to thank you also for receiving a lot of our young people being trained in Jordan, even as we speak. Thank you very much,\u201d President Prabowo said.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein expressed his deepest appreciation for the warm welcome extended by Indonesia. The King also mentioned about his long-time personal relations with President Prabowo and highlighted the current positive changes in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also have to say that in a very short period of time, and I have known you for many years, it\u2019s to see your determination to make the life of your people to be much, much better, and many of the programs that you instill is to reach those in needs,\u201d King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein mentioned.<\/p>\n

I addition, the King also reminisced their close relationship during their military service. It was such an experience that built leadership character of devotion and bravery.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis, I think, comes from the days when we were soldiers. You looked after your men, and you looked after their families. So, I am proud and honored to be here, proud and honored to call you my old friend,\u201d the King said.<\/p>\n

The King also highlighted the potential of extensive cooperation and that the bilateral meeting will create breakthroughs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know the discussion that we\u2019re having tonight and tomorrow, there are many new opportunities to strengthen the bond between Indonesia and Jordan. It will be successful because of your graciousness inside, your insight, and your leadership,\u201d the King further said.<\/p>\n

Concluding his remarks, the King once again expressed his support to the development vision carried out by President Prabowo.<\/p>\n
