(Photo by: BPMI of Presidential Secretariat\/Cahyo)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (11\/19) underscored that high-technology medical facilities represent the state\u2019s responsibility to provide quality healthcare for all citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHealthcare services serve as one of the state\u2019s obligations. A successful nation is one that can provide decent healthcare for all. That is why such initiative is so important,\u201d the President said at the inauguration of the Emirates\u2013Indonesia Cardiology Hospital in Surakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of State said that the newly-inaugurated hospital is expected to become a national benchmarking center for cardiac care, offering high-quality service options for the people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI noted that the hospital is equipped with the state-of-the-art medical technology, possibly the most advanced in Indonesia. I was also told that only four hospitals in the country currently possess such sophisticated equipment,\u201d he said, adding that the Government has begun constructing 66 new hospitals across the country to ensure every corner of the region has a modern, high-tech medical facility within the next four years.<\/p>\n<p>The President also noted the urgent need for qualified medical personnel, starting from general practitioners and dentists to nurses and paramedics.<\/p>\n<p>Citing recommendations from Minister of Health, the Government will establish thirty new medical schools and increase student intake at existing ones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor doctors in particular, I will strive to ensure that most\u2014ideally all\u2014can receive full scholarships, Inshallah. We will expand full scholarship programs for medical, nursing, and paramedical education,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>President Prabowo Subianto also highlighted that the Emirates\u2013Indonesia Cardiology Hospital will serve as a hub for medical innovation, research, and education, and as a model for the development of healthcare facilities nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe this will bring new hope for cardiac patients as they won\u2019t need to travel abroad for treatment since we now have excellent facilities here at home. We will continue striving to provide the best healthcare services we can,\u201d he remarked.
