President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (12\/18) inspected the construction of temporary housing (huntara<\/em>) for affected residents, as well as the disaster evacuation post located at State Elementary School SD 05 Kayu Pasak Palembayan in Agam regency, West Sumatra province.<\/p>\n

Upon his arrival in the regency, President Prabowo immediately visited the temporary housing construction site.<\/p>\n

According to the President, the Government plans to build 100 temporary housing units as an interim solution for displaced residents before permanent rehabilitation and reconstruction commence.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am pleased to see that construction of the temporary housing has begun. Can the construction be completed? Within a month, ladies and gentlemen, you will no longer need to live in tents. Immediately after that, we will proceed with the construction of permanent housing. I see that its quality is quite good,\u201d President Prabowo said.<\/p>\n

During the visit, the Head of State also directly inspected the conditions of disaster-affected evacuees and ensured that emergency response efforts were running smoothly.<\/p>\n

To that end, the President proceeded to the evacuation post, which is currently sheltering 271 people from 85 families.<\/p>\n

At the evacuation post, the President also visited the trauma healing post. With warmth and empathy, he interacted directly with the children, engaging them in conversation and encouraging them to remain cheerful and resilient in the aftermath of the disaster.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will overcome this together. We are not alone; every day, we keep thinking about how we can improve the situation of our brothers and sisters,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the Head of State also greeted the evacuees, engaged in dialogue with the residents, and received reports on the urgent needs at the evacuation site.<\/p>\n

While at the public kitchen, the President took the opportunity to sample the meals prepared for the evacuees. He then proceeded to a health post providing medical services to affected residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am accompanied by several officials today. We came to see the situation directly, to offer encouragement, and to convey that you are not alone. We will continue working for all of you,\u201d the President remarked.<\/p>\n
