After inspecting the construction of the Garoga River Bailey bridge, President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (12\/31) visited the Kodam I\/Bukit Barisan<\/em> (Regional military command) health, located in Batu Hula village, Batang Toru district, South Tapanuli regency.<\/p>\n

At the site, the President discussed the delivery of effective healthcare services for affected communities with on-duty medical personnel.<\/p>\n

He also asked about the duration of deployment and the condition of healthcare services. Captain CKM drg. Alfian (DMD) of Kesdam I\/ Bukit Barisan<\/em> explained that the medical team has been deployed since the first day of disaster.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been on duty since day one, for a total of 36 days,\u201d drg. Alfian (DMD) said.<\/p>\n

The President further noted that the medical team had treated approximately 2,300 patients. The most common cases included acute respiratory infections, such as coughs and colds, as well as skin infections characterized by itching among residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe majority of cases we handle are respiratory infections and skin infections,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Regarding facility readiness, drg. Alfian (DMD) stated that Batu Hula health post is staffed by medical personnel on a daily basis. Two doctors are on duty each day\u2014one from Kesdam I\/Bukit Barisan<\/em> and another from the local community health center.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are also nurses and other paramedics on standby at the Batu Hula health post,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The President\u2019s visit underscored Government\u2019s commitment to comprehensive post-disaster recovery, focusing not only on the reconstruction of strategic infrastructure, such as connecting bridges, but also ensuring access to healthcare services for affected communities.<\/p>\n
