President Prabowo signs the Board of Peace Charter on Thursday (1\/22), in Davos, Switzerland.<\/p><\/div>\n

President Prabowo Subianto was one of the world leaders who signed the Board of Peace Charter on Thursday (1\/22) in Davos, Switzerland. The signing of this charter marked the beginning of the Board of Peace (BoP) as a new international body established to oversee the transition, stabilization, and reconstruction process in post-conflict Gaza.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo’s participation in the signing of the charter demonstrated Indonesia’s strong commitment to continue playing an active role in maintaining world order and promoting the peaceful resolution of international conflicts. This aligns with the mandate of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.<\/p>\n

For the record, the BoP is an international body initiated by the United States President Donald Trump to oversee the administration, stabilization, and reconstruction of Gaza during the post-conflict transition period. The establishment of this body is part of the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict (20-Point Roadmap) and has received supports from the United Nations Security Council through Resolution 2803 (2025). The resolution also refers to the establishment of a technocratic and non-political governing structure of Gaza through the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG).<\/p>\n

In its primary mandate, the BoP is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the ceasefire, security stabilization, and the reconstruction process in Gaza. Furthermore, the BoP is directed to restore civil governance and ensure a transition to sustainable peace in the region. The BoP membership consists of the countries invited directly by the Chairman, with representation at the Head of State or Head of Government level.<\/p>\n

For Indonesia, participation in the BoP holds strategic significance. This participation is intended to ensure that the Gaza transition process remains focused on a two-state solution and does not develop into a permanent arrangement that ignores the rights of the Palestinian people.<\/p>\n

Through this forum, Indonesia will actively advocate for principle position on a cessation of violence, protection of civilians, opening humanitarian access, and restoring Palestinian civil governance. Indonesia’s presence is also expected to provide a moral and political balance to ensure the reconstruction process is carried out in accordance with international law and the UN resolutions.<\/p>\n

“I think this is a historic opportunity. This is truly a chance to achieve peace in Gaza,” the President told the media after signing the Charter.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo’s signing of the BoP charter also affirms Indonesia’s leadership at the global level as a nation that consistently champions peace, justice, and humanity. This step strengthens Indonesia’s position as an active partner in international diplomacy and a key voice in efforts to maintain global stability and order.
