According to the President, no investor would come to a country that disregards the rule of law.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere can be no [favorable] investment climate without certainty in fair law enforcement. No one will invest in a country that does not abide by the law or whose legal traditions are in question,\u201d he pointed out.<\/p>\n

Therefore, President Prabowo Subianto expressed his commitment to ensure impartial law enforcement above all other interests.<\/p>\n

Since 2025, the President noted, the Indonesian Government has taken firm and transparent measures to combat corruption.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are determined to fight the corruption head-on. [We know] this is a challenge. Not many people believe we can do it, but we have no choice. I have no choice. [When] I was sworn in, I took an oath to uphold the constitution and the rule of law,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

The Head of State further disclosed that the Government had discovered widespread abuse in fuel and crude oil management early in his administration. In addition, similar illegal practices were found across nearly all economic sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the first year of my administration, we seized four million hectares of illegal plantations and illegal mines. This is extraordinary. I do not call this free enterprise or a free market. I call it, openly, an economy of greed–an economy driven by greedy practices,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

By working largely behind the scenes, the President stated that tangible results from law enforcement have been achieved, including a decline in extreme poverty to its lowest level in Indonesia\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Government has also set a target to eradicate extreme poverty within the next four years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is nothing more urgent, [and] nothing more satisfying than reducing poverty and eliminating hunger,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is my mission now: to make the poorest [and] most vulnerable Indonesians smile. I believe part of that [mission] is confronting corruption, manipulation, and the abuse of power,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
