President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of national vigilance in facing increasingly complex global dynamics and tensions. He reminded everyone that since the founding of the Republic of Indonesia, the world has been in the midst of ideological and geopolitical conflicts that have had both direct and indirect impacts on Indonesia.<\/p>\n

“Since our first president, we, Indonesia, and the entire world, have been in the midst of a major ideological war. It is a global major ideological war in which the world is divided into blocs; there are the communist bloc and anti-communist bloc, or called the democratic bloc and capitalist bloc,” the President said in his remarks at the 2026 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas<\/em>) of the Central and Regional Governments at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor regency, West Java province, on Monday (02\/02).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the President emphasized that global conflicts, such as the war in Ukraine and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, have had wide-ranging impacts, including on Indonesia’s economic stability, security, and national resilience. Therefore, all levels of the Government are urged to fully understand the current global challenges.<\/p>\n

“So, ladies and gentlemen, this is what I want to convey to all levels of the Government. We must stay vigilant and understand the global challenges,” he stated.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo also shared his observations from various international meetings he recently attended in Europe, including the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. He said the meeting saw growing concern among world leaders about the potential outbreak of World War III.<\/p>\n

“Almost all world leaders are concerned about the possibility of World War III,” the President stated.<\/p>\n

He warned that a global conflict, particularly one involving nuclear weapons, would have far-reaching impacts, even on countries not directly involved. These impacts could include environmental contamination, disruptions to supplies of food and fishery products, and even extreme climate change caused by the nuclear winter phenomenon, which could potentially last for decades.<\/p>\n

In this context, the President reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to free and active politics and the non-alignment principle. Indonesia, the President stated, will not join any military pact and will continue to prioritize friendship with all nations.<\/p>\n

“My foreign philosophy is that a thousand friends are too few while one enemy is too many,” he stated.<\/p>\n

However, the President said that the non-alignment position and global friendship also require strong national independence. If Indonesia chooses not to rely on military alliances, this nation must be able to stand on its own strength, as emphasized by President Sukarno and Commander-in-Chief General Sudirman.<\/p>\n

“From the beginning, Bung Karno said that we must stand on our own feet. Also, our first Commander-in-Chief Sudirman taught us that we must believe in our own strength,” he said.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo also emphasized that the current world does not always operate based on ideal principles, but rather on the reality of power. “I always remind and teach everyone that the world today goes on the principle that the strong will do what they want, and the weak will suffer,” he said.<\/p>\n

Therefore, as a Head of State holding the people’s mandate, the President emphasized his obligation to safeguard the safety of the Indonesian nation and people with rational, calm, and unemotional policies. “We cannot be emotional; we cannot be too idealistic because we are facing the real world.
