Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya outlines other strategic successes, including the zero percent trade tariffs deal with 27 European Union countries and an agreement to develop a Hajj Village in Saudi Arabia, conveyed at Merdeka Palace on Wednesday (02\/04).<\/p><\/div>\n

President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that all Indonesian foreign diplomacy prioritizes concrete achievements for the country. He made this statement during a meeting with several former Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, international relations academics, and Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) at Merdeka Palace, Wednesday (02\/04).<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, this is reflected in various strategic achievements Indonesia has secured over the past year, including joining BRICS, a group comprising major global economic powers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia has joined BRICS, which includes, among others, Brazil, Russia, China, and India, the world\u2019s major economic powers,\u201d Teddy wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, he underlined other strategic achievements include setting zero percent trade tariffs in 27 EU countries and the Hajj Village development agreement in Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia\u2019s participation in the US-initiated Palestinian peace agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia made history by signing the US-initiated Palestinian peace agreement. Following the signing, conflicts and casualties have significantly decreased,\u201d Teddy stated.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding Indonesia\u2019s participation in the Board of Peace (BoP), Teddy explained that membership is non-permanent, allowing Indonesia\u2019s full authority to withdraw at any time. As for the US$1 billion fund for the BoP membership, Teddy explained that it is for Gaza reconstruction and not mandatory.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia has officially joined with seven major countries, mostly with Muslim-majority populations: Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, UAE, and Pakistan,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMember countries may choose to pay or not. Payment grants permanent membership, while non-payment grants three-year membership. Indonesia has not yet paid,\u201d he continued.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, Teddy emphasized that Indonesia\u2019s involvement in BoP is a concrete step for direct engagement in reducing warfare in Palestine. \u201cNot just attending conferences, meetings, discussions, or official gatherings,\u201d he stressed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through proactive, results-oriented diplomacy, he added, President Prabowo reaffirms Indonesia\u2019s commitment to strengthening its global position while ensuring every foreign policy measure delivers strategic benefits for Indonesians and world peace.
