President Prabowo Subianto, Saturday (02\/07), attended the Communal Prayer for the Safety of the Nation and the Inauguration of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for the 2025\u20132030 term at Istiqlal Grand Mosque, Jakarta.<\/p>\n

Arriving at around 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, President Prabowo was welcomed by the MUI leaders and prominent religious figures.<\/p>\n

The President\u2019s presence symbolized the state\u2019s strong support for the role of ulemas (Islamic scholars) in safeguarding religious harmony, social stability, and national unity.<\/p>\n

The event was also attended by tens of thousands of congregants representing various Islamic organizations and religious institutions from all over the country.<\/p>\n

The event opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur\u2019an, followed by collective prayers for the safety of the nation and the state, as well as prayers for victims of natural disasters in several regions.<\/p>\n

Held in a solemn atmosphere, the prayers reflected spiritual devotion, humanitarian solidarity, and hope for Indonesia\u2019s continued strength and protection in facing various challenges.<\/p>\n

The event continued with the inauguration of the MUI Executive Board for the 2025\u20132030 term, marking the beginning of a new mandate for ulemas, Muslim leaders, and Muslim scholars to guide the community and strengthen the contribution of Islam in social, national, and state life.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, the President expressed the honor of being invited to attend the inauguration, noting its special significance as it was held at Istiqlal Mosque, the grand mosque of Indonesian Muslims.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the Head of State underlined the vital and strategic role of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in the life of the nation and the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has long served as a pillar of stability, calm, and tolerance among people of all religions. The MUI has never been absent in times of national hardship. Most recently, we witnessed its presence from the very first days of the disasters that struck several regions, including Aceh, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and other provinces,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee Nusron Wahid stated that the event was not merely ceremonial, but a moment for spiritual reflection, drawing closer to Allah SWT, and restoring inner peace amid the dynamics of national life.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are holding this event while our nation is facing various trials and calamities, including flash floods, landslides, and other disasters that have affected our brothers and sisters across the country, particularly in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra,\u201d Nusron said.<\/p>\n

The event at Istiqlal Mosque reflected the strong synergy between the state and religious scholars in fostering unity, strengthening humanitarian solidarity, and reaffirming the national values that form the foundation of Indonesia.<\/p>\n

The event was also attended by, among others, the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, members of the Red-and-White Cabinet, a number of ambassadors of friendly countries, ulemas and Muslim prominent figures from various regions.
