The Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) held a Presidential Palace Guard handover ceremony in front of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday (02\/15).<\/p>\n

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the ceremony was conducted in accordance with instructions from President Prabowo Subianto, who directed that it will be held every Sunday at 8:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, so that the public, including Car Free Day participants, can watch.<\/p>\n

\u201cBased on the President\u2019s instructions, Paspampres is to hold a handover ceremony for the Presidential Palace Guards every Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. The ceremony can be witnessed by local residents, Car Free Day participants, and those who come specifically to observe the procession,\u201d Cabinet Secretary Teddy said in a written statement.<\/p>\n

Cabinet Secretary Teddy also said that the Commander of Paspampres, Major General Edwin Sumantha, implemented the President\u2019s directive by presenting a ceremony that reflected discipline and professionalism while also conveying a sense of pride and aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, the ceremony was conducted in a solemn and visually appealing manner.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Paspampres Commander Major General Edwin Sumantha, carried out the President\u2019s instructions by presenting a ceremony that was impressive, dignified, and a source of pride, and that also became a special attraction for members of the public wishing to take photos in front of the Presidential Palace in Jakarta,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He further explained that approximately 150 Paspampres personnel were deployed for each ceremony, including 30 horses, adding to the grandeur and solemnity of the occasion.<\/p>\n

The neatly arranged and coordinated cavalry formation created a striking spectacle for residents and Car Free Day participants passing through the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cPublic enthusiasm was very high, as reflected in the large number of people who came to witness the procession,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The Presidential Palace Guard Handover Ceremony not only demonstrates the readiness and professionalism of Paspampres in carrying out its duties to secure the President and the Presidential Palace, but also serves as a symbolic platform for interaction between state institutions and the public.<\/p>\n

The tradition that would be held regularly every Sunday morning, further reinforces the image of the Merdeka Palace as an open and dignified home for the people.<\/p>\n
